Ping Fu describes herself as an artist and a scientist whose chosen expression is business. In 1997, Ping co-founded Geomagic, a leading U.S. software company that pioneers the 3D imaging and 3D printing technologies.
Ping served as the Chief Strategy and Chief Entrepreneur Officers at 3D Systems from 2013 to 2017, responsible for corporate growth strategy and new market development, entrepreneurial and innovation programs. Currently Ping serves on the board of directors of Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV), Capstone Green Energy (NASDAQ: CGRN), Long Now Foundation, and Burning Man. She is a global innovation advisor at the office of Prime Minister in UAE.
Ping is actively involved in promoting entrepreneurship and women in mathematics and sciences. Ping has served on the NACIE (National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship) formed by President Obama. She is the holder of five U.S. and international patents.
Ping has received numerous awards for her leadership, including the Outstanding American by Choice Award from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. magazine, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and Life Time Achievements Award by Business Leader magazine. Ping’s memoir published in 2013, Bend, Not Break: Life in Two Worlds, is a New York Times bestseller.
