1. Types of Information We Collect and Why

Personal Information

We do not collect any more personal information than is reasonably necessary to enable your participation in the activities we offer.

• Account Registration: To enable using certain features of cesium.com or Cesium ion, we may request personal information such as your name, mailing address, email address, IP address, the name of your organization, telephone number, account number, account password, account preferences and billing information.
• Feedback/ Support: If you contact Cesium via email or phone, we collect your name, email address, and any additional information that you may provide during that communication.
• Email Interconnectivity: If you receive an email from us, we may use certain tools to capture information related to when you open the email or click on any links or banners it contains.
• Directly from You: If you register for an event (webinar, training class, conference, expo, etc.) hosted by or in attendance by Cesium, or sign up for a contest (sweepstake, challenge, giveaway, etc.), we may request your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, job title, the name of your organization, your areas of interest, your dietary restrictions (if food is provided), and your T-shirt size. Scanning your badge at an event will provide Cesium with the same or similar information herein. If you visit our offices, we may require you to register as a visitor and to provide your name, the name of your organization, your address, and proof of citizenship (including passport information); in addition, sometimes we may need to take a photograph of you. Where applicable law permits, our offices’ cameras capture images for security purposes and for crime prevention.
• Payment Information: Payment might be required for certain services. We may ask you to provide your name, address, email and credit card information. No payment instrument numbers will be stored within our systems. We use a reputable PCI-certified third party payment provider to process your payments. Your sensitive information is encrypted and transmitted securely via HTTPS.
• Referral: If you provide to us any Personal Information relating to other individuals, you represent that you have the authority and their permission to provide us such information and that you permit Cesium to use the Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
• Job Applicant: If you apply for a job with Cesium, we collect information about you that includes the following: contact details, employment status, employment history, educational history, security clearance status, Curriculum Vitae, photographs, background check (including criminal history details), information that we obtain from employment screening agencies or staffing agencies and information that you provide to us (or that we may have obtained from public websites or social media) in connection with employment opportunities.
• Cesium ion and Related Software: When operating Cesium ion from an internet-connected device, you may optionally choose to enable access to hosted data. In that case, for security, marketing and product research purposes, additional personal information may be collected and are as follows: your IP address, browser and device information may be analyzed in the aggregate to determine collective user characteristics, to understand user traffic patterns, sales information and behavior on Cesium.com.

Note that in addition to the information that we collect from you directly, we may receive information about you from other sources, including third parties, business partners, affiliates or publicly available sources. Your personal information may be retained in residual back-up files that are a function of our network’s back-up systems.

Non-Personal Information

Analysis: Anonymous information collected may be analyzed in the aggregate to determine collective user characteristics, to understand user traffic patterns, sales information and user behavior on cesium.com. We also analyze traffic on cesium.com through the use of services like Google Analytics, which is subject to Google’s own Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review. Cesium reserves the right to change the analytical service provider any time without notice.

Local Storage: We also use technologies such as cookies and local Storage to store an access token on your browser, which enables us to recognize you and your preferences the next time you log in. 2. How We Use the Information

In addition to creating an account tailored to you, your personal information, sometimes combined with non-personal information, may be used to operate and maintain our service, as well as to monitor and protect the security and integrity of our service. When you contact us, we may keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues and provide technical support, or answer your inquiry regarding our products and services. We may use the email address you provide us to notify you of improvements, changes and new features. If you sign up for our newsletter, we would send you our newsletter. 5. Retention Period
